Managing your Time Makes Sense!

Managing your time can make you feel more in control of your life and actually give you more free time to participate in the activities that are important to you. Managing your time will allow you to achieve more and lead a balanced life. Managing your time is school is necessary so you do not feel stressed over big exams. So how do you manage your time? What steps can you take? Try some of the following:

  • Write a schedule for yourself - Use a notebook and write out your schedule. Remember to input even the smallest activities. Be honest with yourself. Think about how much time you need to study. Think about if you stuck to this schedule every day? Would you be spending the bulk of your weekend/ fun time on tedious things.
  • Keep a time log- Use a notebook to write down your activities every hour or so for one week. Know exactly what you do all day helps you focus and learn what you are wasting time on. At the end of the week, review your time log. Ask yourself: Did I do everything I had to do on time? Did I need to rush to get things done? what kept me from finishing tasks? At what times of day was I most and least productive?
  • Keep a "To Do List"- Each morning , make a list of things you need to do for that day. Rank the items on your list by their priority. At the end of the day, see what things you accomplished and the things you didn't. Start setting goals for yourself.
