Feel Less Stuck

I was recently shocked to discover that nearly 1 in 5 people - 56.7 million - in the US has a disability (1). 1 out of every five people I know!?! People with disabilities are more likely than those without disabilities to report having poorer overall health, less access to adequate healthcare and more engagement in risky behaviors such as smoking and physical inactivity (2).

This means that we need to work together to build supportive communities.

Indeed, these facts drove our team to put together a toolkit to help empower our disabled population with their options and their rights! I’ve been trying to share some of our findings so far, in hopes that the resources we’re compiling can help empower people to feel less “stuck” in their respective situations.
